Fee information for private consultations
Please take the time to carefully read the following as it contains important information that we are required by law to provide to you.
As this includes information about our charges, if you do not have private medical insurance but someone else will be paying your bill, you may wish them to review this page on our website.
Please note that even if someone else is paying your bill or you have private medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any charges, which they do not pay.
Consultation Fee for self-pay patients
Our fee for an initial consultation is £250 and our fee for any follow-up consultation is £150. Following your consultation, you may need certain tests (such as blood tests or imaging, for example an X-ray, MRI or CT scan) to help us diagnose your condition. If the test is undertaken by the clinic or hospital, and not by us, the fees for those tests will be determined by the clinic or hospital and charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately. If there are any fees which we will charge in relation to any of the tests we advise that you have, we will let you know what those will be.
If you fail to attend any appointment without more than 24 hours notice, the full fee will be chargeable to either yourself or your insurance company. It is your responsibility to contact my secretary directly to cancel your appointment on 07498 699743, via phone/message, or text.
It is sometimes recommended that you have a steroid injection into your knee as part of your treatment. Our fee for this service is £120. Please note that the hospital will invoice you separately for the material used.
Operation fees for self pay patients are set by the Individual Private Hospitals. It is possible to purchase “all inclusive packages” for surgical procedures from the private hospitals which covers the costs of the surgeon, anaesthetist and hospital. We can provide you with a quote at the time if you would like to explore this option.
Private Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, we will charge according to your insurance schedule which means you have nothing to pay, unless you have an excess on your policy. Please obtain an authorisation code from your insurer for the consultation prior to your appointment, and provide this at the time of your booking.
Please note that you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
We are recognised by all currently available Medical Insurers including BUPA, AXA, AVIVA, Vitality, WPA, Allianz, Healix and Police Mutual. All charges are in line with individual medical insurers.
Operation fees are covered by the Individual Medical Insurers (after payment of any Excess on your policy).
Financial Interests
We are legally obliged to tell you if we have any financial interests in any of the private hospitals, clinics or any equipment there. We can confirm that we do not have any such financial interests.
